Danaid egg fly or mimic or diadem butterfly

Scientific description

 

The species is a large sized butterfly observed during rainy season. The female of the species shows polymorphism and mimicry while the males are monomorphic. The wings of male are black in colour with distinctive white spots fringed in blue. The females appear in many forms. One form resembles the male while other forms resemble the toxic butter fly Danaus chrysippus and Danaus Plexippus showing the phenomena of mimicry.
